Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
We follow the principle of data minimisation: we collect only what is reasonably needed to operate the site and understand its use. This project is an independent, non-profit information guide.
Information we may collect
This may include browsing data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, cookies and similar technologies, and any information you voluntarily send via email or the available contact channels.
How we use the information
- To improve the site’s content and user experience.
- To understand visit patterns and traffic when analytics is enabled with your consent.
- To respond to enquiries you send voluntarily.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
External services
The site uses an embedded Google Maps map to show the geographic location. It may use Google Analytics to measure visits only if you consent to measurement cookies on the cookie settings page. The photos used in the guide remain subject to the licences of their owners and sources as stated in the project’s photo credits file, including Wikimedia Commons. Each external service has its own privacy policy.
Cookies
Necessary cookies store basic choices. Analytics is optional and is not loaded before your consent. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings page.
Your rights
Where the GDPR or relevant laws apply, your rights may include accessing your data, requesting correction or deletion, objecting to or restricting processing, requesting a copy where applicable, and lodging a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
Retention and security
We do not keep information longer than needed for the legitimate operation of the site or to meet legal obligations. We take reasonable measures to limit unauthorised access, while acknowledging that no electronic transmission or storage method is entirely risk-free.
Changes
This policy may change when the site’s functions or legal requirements change. A substantive update will be shown by a new date at the top of the page.
